Dr. Kerry Garrity has been practicing in the Louisville area since graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. To fulfill her dream of practicing quality medicine in a warm and friendly environment, Dr. Garrity and her husband opened The Downtown Animal Hospital in October of 2007.
Dr. Garrity is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. The Downtown Animal Hospital offers state of the art medical facilities (including digital radiographs and full in-house laboratory) and treatments. Her hobbies include traveling, trying to learn how to play golf, riding her Peloton and spending time with family.
Dr. Pinkston recently joined our practice in August of 2022. She is a graduate of The University of Edinburgh's College of Veterinary Medicine. Previous to that, Dr. Pinkston was an assistant and technician here at The Downtown Animal Hospital and we are so glad to have her back. Dr. Pinkston is a strong advocate of fear free medicine and is certified fear free.
When Dr. Pinkston isn't working, she loves to travel, go on walks/hikes with her wee Cocker Spaniel named Tod, read, and garden.
Kiley has been a Vet Tech at The Downtown Animal Hospital since it opened in 2007. She and Dr. Garrity had worked together at a previous animal hospital. Kiley has a BS in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina. When she isn't working Kiley is spending time with her menagerie of animals which include, four cats, two dogs and two children. Kiley also likes to ride her bike, read, write and watch true crime documentaries.
Chelsea has been with us for a few years now. Before coming to The Downtown Animal Hospital Chelsea worked for the Humane Society. When not working, Chelsea loves taking her German Shorthaired Pointer out for a run while jamming to Taylor Swift. Cruising through TikTok videos and traveling with her husband.
Iris is our newest Vet Tech. She started with us a few years ago as an Assistant Vet Tech. She is currently a Biology student at Bellarmine University. When she isn't working or studying, Iris loves designing terrariums for her various lizards and attending concerts and music festivals. Iris has the distinction of being our clinic cat's favorite staff member.
Gabby is our clinic cat. She came here eleven years ago. Dr. John Garrity found her on the Waterson Expressway. At the time she had a shattered pelvis. Now she is the hospitals cat-mander in chief and head pro-cat-stinator. When not warming the receptionists chairs for them, Gabby loves laying in the windows, ignoring the clients and other people who love to say hello to her and sitting in front of you so you can't see your computer screen.
